The Soraya Foundation Scholarship
In 2025, The Soraya Foundation established The Soraya Foundation Scholarship. This scholarship supports former NCAA Division I student-athletes across the United States who are pursuing higher education beyond their undergraduate degree. This scholarship is designed for individuals who have demonstrated excellence both in the classroom and in athletics, who are now channeling the same dedication toward making a meaningful impact on the world through advanced studies. This is a one-time non-renewable scholarship supports individuals who embody resilience, leadership, but most importantly purpose beyond the game.
Eligibility

Must be a current or former athlete at a Division-I NCAA-accredited institution.

Educational Background

​Applicants must be completing or have already completed a bachelor’s degree.

Must be enrolled in or have applied to a part-time or full-time graduate or professional program, including master’s, PhD, law school, medical school, MBA, or other advanced study programs.

Sport participation

All NCAA Division I sports are eligible for The Soraya Foundation Scholarship.

Any number of years competing at the Division I level qualifies.

Enrollment / Application Timing

​Applicants must meet all application deadlines, as submissions are reviewed on a strict timeline.

Late submissions may be considered only in exceptional circumstances, which should be clearly explained in the application.

To be selected as scholarship recipient, applicant must be enrolled in post-graduate program by April 20, 2026.

GPA

​Must have a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Citizenship / Residency

Open to U.S. citizens, permanent residents, international students, and undocumented individuals.
