Applicant Privacy
Information submitted as part of a scholarship or program application is handled in accordance with The Soraya Foundation’s Privacy Policy.
Submitting an application does not give The Soraya Foundation permission to publicly disclose private financial, academic, personal, or application materials. If the Foundation wishes to publicly share a recipient’s name, photograph, story, biography, school, athletic history, or similar information, separate permission may be requested when appropriate.
Donations
Donations made to The Soraya Foundation support the Foundation’s charitable mission, programs, scholarships, operations, and related activities. Contributions may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Nothing on this website should be interpreted as tax, financial, accounting, or legal advice. Donors should consult their own professional advisor regarding the tax treatment of a contribution.
Donations are also subject to The Soraya Foundation’s Donation & Refund Policy.
Recurring Donations
If you choose to make a recurring contribution, you authorize the applicable payment provider to process the selected donation amount at the frequency you choose. Recurring donations will continue until canceled.
You may request cancellation of future recurring donations in accordance with our Donation & Refund Policy.
Cancellation does not ordinarily reverse a donation that has already been processed.
Donation Designations
Unless The Soraya Foundation expressly agrees otherwise, donations may be used where they are most needed to support the Foundation’s charitable mission. If a fundraising campaign identifies a specific program, scholarship, initiative, or purpose, the Foundation intends to use those contributions in furtherance of that stated purpose. If circumstances make that purpose impractical, impossible, unnecessary, or no longer consistent with the Foundation’s needs, the Foundation may redirect funds to a substantially similar charitable purpose consistent with its mission and applicable requirements.
Donor Recognition
The Soraya Foundation may publicly recognize donors and supporters.
Donors who prefer to remain anonymous may request anonymous recognition.
Public recognition does not provide a donor with ownership, voting rights, governance authority, or decision-making authority within The Soraya Foundation. The handling of donor information is further described in our Privacy Policy.
## 11. Volunteer, Mentor, and Community Opportunities
The Soraya Foundation may provide opportunities to volunteer, mentor, partner, participate in events, or otherwise support the organization. Expressing interest does not guarantee placement, participation, selection, or partnership.
The Foundation may establish qualifications, screening procedures, conduct expectations, scheduling requirements, or other participation criteria where appropriate.
